Application of ultrasonic transducer with different power


The power of the transducer depends on the volume and design frequency of the piezoelectric ceramic. Considering the limitation of input driving voltage, the power of piezoelectric ceramics is generally adjusted by the change of its diameter at a certain frequency. In order to avoid the interference of the transverse vibration of the transducer, the frequency of the transverse vibration (corresponding to the diameter) is much higher than the frequency (longitudinal frequency), which limits the power range of the transducer.


General low frequency occasions choose 100W series or higher power of the unconventional series, medium frequency occasions choose 50W or 100W series, medium high frequency above choose 50W series or lower power of the unconventional series.


It should be noted that, for the available 50W or 100W series of intermediate frequency occasions, such as conditions allow, as far as possible to choose low power, because of the low power of the transducer, the number of needs, good ultrasonic uniformity, good stability of the oscillator, long life, stainless steel material surface cavitation corrosion is small.


Application of different shapes of ultrasonic transducers


The shape of common transducer is mainly divided into horn shape and column shape. The difference between them mainly lies in the shape of radiation front cover. The former is cone horn. The latter is a straight rod shape.


Trumpet-shaped transducers have high impedance, wide band width, and are easier to adapt to circuits, so their acoustic radiation efficiency is higher than that of straight column transducers, that is, the same input electrical power. Greater acoustic power is obtained in the cleaning tank, while less electrical power is consumed on the transducer, resulting in lower heat of the transducer.


When the electrical power of the input transducer is the same, because the area of the horn radiant surface is larger than that of the rod transducer, the sound intensity of the radiant surface is lower, and the surface cavitation corrosion of the stainless steel plate bonded to it is small. Therefore, it is better to use horn transducer under normal circumstances. However, because of its small radiation surface area, high radiation sound intensity, long distance, such as cleaning deep screw hole, it is appropriate to use this type.
